Wilma Jean Eisenhut

Wilma Jean Eisenhut, 96, of Topeka, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023.

She was born September 2,1927, in Topeka, the daughter of Peter and Lucy VanEs.

She married Eugene Eisenhut in a double ring wedding ceremony with her sister Marjorie and Theodore Gehrt on April 17, 1949.

In addition to raising 4 children, she was a bookkeeper for numerous businesses including Graphic Arts, Inc.

After retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband from Kansas to Casa Grande, Arizona, their winter home. She spent many years teaching quilting to all the ladies in the RV park.

Her passion in life was to care for others and she showed that in her love for sewing by making clothes for her children or the many quilts she made for family. After her return to Kansas full time, she spent many hours with the quilting ladies at Faith Lutheran Church making more quilts for donation.

Wilma was proceeded in death by her husband Eugene and her son John.

She is survived by her sister Marjorie Gehrt, Topeka, KS.; son Vic Eisenhut and partner Brian Childs, Scottsdale, AZ; daughter Gail and Tom Vickery of Star, ID; grandson Jeremiah and Wife Lynsie and great grandchildren Jack and Kate; son Van Eisenhut and wife Linda, Topeka, KS, and granddaughter Vanessa and husband Chance and great grand children Ryder and Cooper. Daughter in Law Lynette and grandchildren Adam and Jacob.

A visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 am Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage Blvd with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM at the church. Lunch will be served following the service.

In lieu of flowers, Wilma requested memorials to Faith Lutheran Church.
