Wilma Naedean Corkins

February 20, 1942 — December 11, 2023

Wilma Naedean Corkins, a beacon of love and faith, has two-stepped her way into heaven on December 11th , 2023 at the age of 81, in Topeka, Kansas, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family. Born on February 20, 1942, in the comforting embrace of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Wilma brought joy and laughter to all who were blessed to know her. She danced her way through life, and now she dances among the angels, having left the troubles of this world and her battle with cancer behind.

Wilma was a woman of spirited resilience, a matriarch whose heart was as abundant as her faith. She found her greatest joy in the smiles of her children: David Munoz, Maria Munoz, Lorri Sherley, and Rorye Reece, lovingly known as Buck. Though her heart was broken by the early departure of her cherished son, Patrick David Munoz, she remained a steadfast pillar of strength for her family, embracing life with grace and courage that inspired us all.

Her legacy extends through the generations, with thirteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren who carry her spirit forward. Wilma was the embodiment of a life well-lived, her days filled with the sweet aroma of home-cooked meals and the echoes of laughter from gatherings that often filled her home. She moved through life much like she moved on the dance floor—with elegance, passion, and a contagious joy that drew people to her.

Wilma's love was a guiding light, a testament to her deep and unwavering faith. She lived her beliefs, loving unconditionally and supporting tirelessly, a true servant of God's love on this earth. Her spirited nature was no less evident than when she stood in the kitchen, a sanctuary where she expressed her love through every dish she lovingly prepared, each recipe a chapter of her story shared with friends and family.

Her presence was a comfort, her advice a treasure, and her approval a sought-after blessing. The words that best capture her essence are loving, faith-filled, and spirited—each syllable a reflection of the woman she was. Wilma's laugh, a melodious symphony of joy, will echo in the hearts of those who loved her, reminding us to cherish each moment as she did.

As we gather to celebrate Wilma's journey to eternal peace, let us honor her memory by living as she did—with open hearts, open arms, and an unshakeable faith. Wilma Naedean Corkins, with a heart as big as the heavens, has left an indelible mark on this world. Her spirit will continue to guide and comfort us, just as the stars light the path in the night sky, forever leading us home.
