William “Bill” Struble

William "Bill" Struble 77, Lawrence, formally of Topeka Kansas, passed away on Tuesday September 17, 2019, surrounded by his immediate family at his residence.

He was born on December 1, 1941, in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Gene and Dorthea Struble. He graduated from Larned High School in 1959. He attended KU and graduated with a bachelor's degree in pharmacy in 1965.

He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1965 as a reservist.  He achieved the rank of Captain. He was honorably discharged soon after Forbes Field shut down in 1973. He worked for various pharmacies in the Topeka area, retiring from Stormont Vail Hospital in 1999.

He married Virginia "Ginny" Struble in 1968 in Eureka, Kansas, she survives.

Other survivors include his son Steve Struble, Lafayette, Louisiana, daughter in law Angie Struble, New Iberia, Louisiana. Daughter Stacy (Curtis) Landis, Topeka, Kansas. And grandchildren Darrien Landis, Chloe Struble, Dain Struble & Maggie Struble. His sister Jane (Joel) Pelzl, New Braunfels, Texas. Alice (Eric) Friend, The Colony Texas, Gerry (Doug) Nichols Carrollton, Texas. Nephews Jeff (Renee) Pelzel, Jon (Amy) Pelzl, Nieces Jamee Sooby, Elizabeth (Brandon) Wood, Rebecca Nichols and Great Niece Ava Wood.

He was preceded in death by his father Gene Struble, mother Dorthea Sooby, and brother Charles Sooby.

At Bills request, cremation was done. A celebration of life will be held on September 28, 2019 at Rose Wood Event Venue (3216 SW 29th St. Topeka, Kansas 66614). Family will begin greeting friends at 2:30 pm. with the Celebration of Bill Struble's life starting at 3:00 pm., where stories and memories are encouraged to be shared. Following the celebration, you may continue to visit with family and friends, where stories and memories can continue to be shared.

The family would like to thank Arbor Court of Lawrence, Kansas and Visiting Nurse Association of Lawrence, Kansas for the wonderful care they have given Bill over the years and in the last weeks.
