William G. Laurie Jr.

William G. Laurie Jr., born August 30, 1930, went to be with God on April 16, 2014.

Bill was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and moved to Kansas upon retirement in 1992. Bill considered Kansas home.

Bill worked for 35 years at Cyanamid, an industrial chemical plant in New Jersey.He started in themail room, walking 6 miles a day,and was then a security guard for 20 years.

In light of Bill's disabling injury at age 2, he always had an upbeat attitude and demonstrated positive work ethic all of his life.He even participated in sports, including playing baseball.

Bill loved talking to and helping people. He especially enjoyed being a greeter at the front door of Northland Christian Church for many years.

Bill was married to Barbara in 1980, she survives. Other survivors include 2 daughters, Donna Laurie in China, Kim Liu and husband, John, of Chapman Ks, one son, William III in Florida; 6 grandchildren, Ryan Laurie and wife, Laura, Chicago, Chris Reagan, Chapman, Ks, Brian Liu, Hays, Ks, and Marissa, Lindsey and Kristen Laurie in China.

Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society in Topeka.
