William Fansler

William Fansler 82 passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday January 24, 2018.

He was born in Garden City, KS on September 13, 1935. William was the only child of Stephen and Eula Mae Fansler

William graduated from Kansas School for the Deaf and Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.

He worked 38 years for the Topeka Capital Journal, retiring in 2001.

He married Dorothy Johnston on December 31, 1959 she survives at the home. He is also survived by their 4 children. Mark, Topeka, Kevin (Laura) Portland, Oregon Karla Elder (Larry) Topeka, and Kristi Hawkins (Doug) Rancho Palos Verdes, California. 6 grandchildren, Nick Hawkins, Ryan Hawkins, Lauren Elder, Morgan Elder, Matthew Elder, Nolan Elder and one great granddaughter Lydia Holler.

He is proceeded in death by his parents and 1 grandchild Grant Hawkins.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Childrens Mercy Cancer Center in Kansas City, MO.

A celebration of life will be celebrated at a later date.
