Vivian Lucille (Brawner) Pitts, 93, of Topeka, Kansas went to be with her Savior on November 24, 2019. Vivian was born in Wynne, Arkansas to MacCallister Bradford and Willie Ethyl (Kerr) Brawner on October 2, 1926. Vivian lived most of her life in Wynne but moved to Topeka in 2000 to be near her daughter Kathy Ellen and her family. Truth be told, her grand-daughter, Dallas, was the main reason for the move.

Vivian married Dallas Lafette Pitts on January 19, 1946. At one point they briefly moved to New York but relocated back to Wynne after a short time. Vivian remained at her home south of Wynne until her move to Topeka. Her husband and parents proceeded her in death. Also proceeding her in death were sisters Veneda Louise Cook, Ellen Juanita Hughes and Nora Inez Brawner. Brothers proceeding her in death were Everette Lee "Sonny", Lester Mack, Macon Cecil, Troy Price, Elgin Leon, and baby Brawner who died at birth.

She is survived by her daughter Kathy Ellen (Dennis) Slimmer of Topeka, a grand-daughter Dallas McKenzie (Travis) Brown of Olathe, Kansas, a brother, Howard Clifton Brawner of Piermont, New York and many nieces and nephews great and great-great.

Vivian attended business school in Memphis, Tennessee. Early on she was employed by an Oldsmobile auto dealership. Following that she was employed by the Wynne Baptist Church as their secretary. After working at the church, she was employed by Cross County working in equal employment opportunity finding jobs for unemployed individuals. Vivian spent the majority of her long career employed as a bookkeeper by Merrill and Associates, a hotel management company in Forest City, Arkansas. She retired from that position when she moved to Topeka.

Vivian was a devoted Christian and was active in the Wynne Baptist Church of Wynne, Arkansas where she taught Sunday School and served in numerous responsible positions. She loved her Southern heritage.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Topeka on Saturday November 30, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will follow the service at the church. A private grave side service will be held in Wynne, Arkansas at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 3033 SW MacVicar, Topeka, Kansas 66611.
