Victoria Lee Rubottom passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Midland Hospice House. She was born on March 17, 1955, at Emporia, Kansas, to Edmond Rubottom and Ruth Nordling Rubottom. Both of her parents died when she was a teenager and her cousin, Janet Fox was appointed her family's guardian.
She was preceded in death by both parents, and her cousins -Janet Fox, Thomas Nordling, Jennifer Adams, Rosalyn Slater, all of her aunts, uncles and grandparents. She lost her precious dog, Prissy and really missed her.
She has been a teacher for many years and found much joy in teaching and gained many friends. She also found much joy in her weaving, glass blowing and creating new styles for her weaved textiles. She enjoyed gardening. She especially loved creating a spark for reading in children. She will be missed by all who knew her. All of her cats miss her.
She is survived by her brothers, Stephen and Jody Rubottom, and their children, Jake, Josh and Shelby, Covington, Washington, Paul Rubottom, Emporia, Kansas; cousins, Tom Nordling, Osage City; Joe and Carolyn Nordling, Allen, Kansas; Jane and Ken Rushing, Drake, Colorado, Helen Nordling, Elinger, Kentucky; Phyllis Slater, Topeka, Kansas; Melvin and Kathie Slater, Meriden, Kansas; Judi and Terry Alexander, Saint Marys, Kansas.
There will be a Memorial/Celebration of Victoria's life at the Fellowship Hall, Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church at 1029 N Kansas Avenue, Topeka, Kansas at 10:30AM on January 3, 2015.
