Vernon L. Anderson, 90, of Topeka, KS died early Monday morning, May 9, 2022, at the House at Midland Care.
He was born March 23, 1932, in Omaha, NE the son of David and Velma (Kivett) Anderson.
Upon graduating from Summerville High School, Summerville, KS, Vern joined the US Army serving in Panama during the Korean War. He was a licensed cosmetologist owning Crown Beauty Shop, worked at Goodyear for over 20 years, was a certified Mental Health Technician at the Topeka State Hospital. But the work he enjoyed more then all was raising hogs.
Vern is survived by his wife of 25 years, Shirley Anderson, they were married on April 5, 1997, in Osage County. Other survivors include a sister, Ginger (Larry) Self, three brothers, Donald (Berniece) Anderson, James (Marinell) Anderson and Richard Anderson. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, David, and Velma.
Cremation has taken place.
