Verna Belle Pletcher

Verna Belle Pletcher, Lecompton, passed away February 26, 2023, after battling cancer.

Verna was born in Topeka, KS, on August 16, 1943, to the parents of Merton and Roberta Kent. She graduated from Lecompton High School in 1961. She had a son, Harold E. Becker Jr., on July 1, 1963, with her first husband.

Verna married Alvah John Pletcher on August 26, 1967. Verna was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, both of Lecompton; her husband, John, Lecompton; and two sisters, Louise Wallace, Grantville, and Dorthy Harrell, Lecompton.

Verna is survived by her son, Harold, Lecompton; and three sisters, Ardith Badger, Carbondale, Jeanie Vestal, Lawrence, and Carolyn Glenn, Lecompton.

Verna was cremated; there will be a graveside service at a date to be determined. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lecompton United Methodist Church, the Lecompton Historical Society, or Midland Care Hospice.
