Velma Belle Roose

Velma Belle Roose (Lutz), 93, of Topeka, KS passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children John Roose and Carol Reichmuth (Roose) on 9/13/2019. Velma was preceded in death by her son Gary Roose. In addition to her son and daughter, she is survived by 5 grandchildren: Brandon Roose, Drew, Dan, Beth and Jess Reichmuth. At Velma's request, no service will be held. Velma was born in Berryton, KS on 03/29/1926 to Grace Neeley and Warner Lutz. Velma loved waterfrom an early age and could often be found in or around any of the various lakes  around Topeka. She worked for many years at Topeka Parks and Recreation Senior Adults department. It was here that she made a number of friends she would cherish throughout her life. Velma was an avid volleyball player most of her adult life. She also enjoyed playing softball and bowling. Velma participated in and worked for the Kansas Senior Olympics.
