Timothy "Tim" F. Armour passed away at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas on Friday March 2nd, 2018 at the age of 68.
Timothy F. Armour, the son of Eldon and Marie (Rohling) Armour, was born on May 29, 1949 in Wichita, KS. He grew up and attended schools in the Wichita community.
Tim married Sarah King on December 20, 1978. Tim and Sarah enjoyed 39 years of happy married life together, loving and supporting each other in the good and difficult times. Tim will be forever remembered by his loving wife and children.
Tim worked for Tyson until his retirement. He enjoyed his work and especially enjoyed the people he worked with. Recently he had been working part-time at Olpe Elementary and High School and very much enjoyed interacting with the students and staff.
The greatest joy in Tim's life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved them all and treasured every minute that he could share with them. Tim enjoyed many different activities. Since his retirement he enjoyed fishing but most of all he could be found at the Emporia Golf Course golfing with his family and friends.
Tim served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an electrician in the Navy, EM3. He was a member of the American Legion, the Emporia Golf Course, and the Men's Association at the Emporia Golf Course.
Tim is survived by his children of the home, Emily and Lane Armour; his daughter Lindsey Hansen, her husband Brandon and their children Ethan and Nathan; his daughter Elizabeth Dingler, her husband Eugene and their daughter Elliot; his daughter Shannon Vogts with Jason and their children Harley, Zoey and Chloe; his daughter Rebecca Schlesener and her daughter Bailey; his son Paul Armour and wife Mayra; his son Kevin Armour with Tonya and their children Kyle, Kameron, Sean and Cody; his brothers Patrick, Mike and Danny Armour; and numerous extended family.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Marie Armour.
The Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on March 10, 2018 at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 2000 Prairie Street, Emporia, KS 66801. Pastor Tegtmeier of Messiah Lutheran Church will be officiating.
