Theresa (Viergever) Love, affectionately known as Theresa to her friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on May 24, 2024. Born on January 1, 1959, in Topeka, Kansas, Theresa was a beacon of joy and a pillar of her community throughout her 65 years of life.
Theresa's early years were spent in the warm embrace of Topeka, where she was raised by her late parents, Donald Sr. and Ann Viergever. She shared a loving childhood with her siblings, the late Randy Viergever, Donald Viergever Jr. and his wife Laura, and Jeanette Thiem and her husband Randy. Theresa's spirit of compassion was evident from a young age, guiding her towards a life of service which saw her graduating from Rossville High School before pursuing a career in healthcare. She dedicated many years to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a role that allowed her to touch the lives of many with her kindness and dedication.
Theresa's zest for life was contagious, and she found joy in the simplest of pleasures. Her passion for the open road was fulfilled on the back of a motorcycle, feeling the wind in her hair as she embarked on rides for both leisure and charity. Her love for her community extended to her time spent behind the bar, where she wasn't just a bartender but a friend to all who walked through the doors. Theresa had the unique ability to make everyone feel at home, remembered not just for the drinks she served but for the memories and laughter she shared with her patrons.
Family was the cornerstone of Theresa's life. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her son, Robert Love Jr., and her daughter, Amber Brewster. Theresa reveled in her role as a grandmother to Ethan Love, Nicole, Jacob, Emma, and Michael Brewster, and Christian Knight. Her joy was further multiplied with the birth of her great-granddaughter, whose early years were graced with the same love and affection Theresa offered so freely. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
As a grandmother, Theresa's greatest pleasure was watching her grandchildren grow, supporting them in their endeavors, and celebrating their every accomplishment. Her presence at school events, sports games, and family gatherings was a source of constant encouragement and pride. Theresa's unwavering support and boundless love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Theresa's life was one of unwavering kindness, selfless service, and an enduring warmth that drew people together. She lived her life fully, with a heart open to all she met and a spirit that could not be dampened. Theresa's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire love and joy in the lives she touched.
As we say goodbye to Theresa, we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who was loved by many and whose influence will continue to be felt. Her journey on earth may have ended, but her spirit remains alive in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love she gave so freely.
Theresa (Viergever) Love's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She now joins her beloved parents and brother in eternal rest, leaving us with cherished memories and a legacy of love that will never be forgotten.
There will be a Celebration of Life luncheon for Theresa on June 29th, 2024 at The Dug Out in Topeka, KS from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
