Terry Lee Ogle

April 24, 1958 — November 6, 2024

Terry Lee Ogle, 66, passed away on November 6, 2024. Born on April 24, 1958, to the late Paul W. and Audrey G. Ogle. Terry's journey through life was one marked by dedication, compassion, and an unwavering spirit of generosity.

Terry graduated from Topeka West High School in 1976, Terry's work ethic was evident from an early age. He went on to become a skilled concrete finisher, a trade through which he made his mark as a member of Cement Masons & Plasters Local 518. Terry's hands were not only skilled in shaping concrete but also in caring for his loved ones. He devoted himself to the care of his stepson Garry Monroe and the love of his life, Carol Robertson, when they developed multiple sclerosis, showcasing his selfless nature.

Terry's life was enriched by his love for the great outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found solace and joy in the natural world. His enthusiasm for sports was undeniable, with a particular passion for the K-State Wildcats and the St. Louis Cardinals. Terry's community spirit shone through his volunteer work with the MS Society, where he dedicated his time to help others facing similar challenges as his family.

One of Terry's most endearing traits was his talent for making homemade beef jerky, affectionately known as "TB – The Best." Family and friends looked forward to receiving his signature packages for birthdays and holidays, a testament to his kindness and thoughtfulness. His love for music was evident through his impressive vinyl collection, a treasure trove of melodies and memories.

Terry's legacy of love and kindness is carried on by his surviving family members: his sister Mary Shaw of Loxley, Alabama; Anne Ogle-Puckett (Kevin) of Colby, Kansas; his step-son Garry Monroe of Topeka, Kansas; step-granddaughters Chloe and Madison Monroe; and step-great-grandson Ren Monroe, all of Topeka, Kansas. His nieces Emile Ogle, Emma Shaw, and Audrey Puckett, along with his nephews Ryan Ogle, Aaron Ogle, and Shane Puckett, will fondly remember their uncle's warmth and wisdom. His extended family also includes one great-niece and five great-nephews, who will grow up hearing stories of Terry's kind and generous spirit. Terry was preceded in death by his brothers Ed and John Ogle and his life partner Carol Robertson.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life, full of shared stories and cherished memories, will be held April 26, 2025.  Time and location will be announced at a later date. Those who knew Terry will remember him as a beacon of selflessness, a man whose actions spoke louder than words and whose presence made the world a little brighter.
