Terry Wayne Kirk, passed away on July 24th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born March 9th, 1954, he was the oldest child of Robert "Bob" Kirk and Norma Faye "Spurgin" Kirk. Growing up with 6 sisters and a baby brother, Terry spent a lot of time trying to find some peace and quiet. Which likely explains his love of the great outdoors. After graduation, Terry became a military police officer in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. Terry met his loving wife Kim and they moved to Kansas where Terry worked as a correctional officer. Terry and Kim have spent the last 24 years building a full life and a beautiful home where spending time with their blended family and fur babies filled their days. That family included Terry's children Phillip, Bobby, Samantha, Kim's children Tanya, Samantha, Nevaeh as well as grandchildren Payton, Isaiah, Hannah and Ophelia, As an avid outdoorsman, Terry could be found most days either fishing at the lake or working on the custom poles and rigs he was so skilled at crafting. Although he struggled with health issues later in life, he never missed the opportunity to go out in his boat and fish. Terry will be remembered for his stubborn nature, sense of humor, love of fishing, hunting, boating and his work ethic. Terry was preceded in death by his younger twin infant brothers, mother and grandparents. In lieu of flowers, cards and gifts can be sent to his wife Kim for later designation. Private Family Service and Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Woodlawn Kansas.
A fisherman's prayer, God grant that I may cast my rod and fish until my final day, and when it comes to that last cast I then must humbly pray, that I be caught in the Lord's safe landing net, judged good enough to stay.
