Sue Pater

Sue (Brown) Pater 64, lost her battle with cancer Oct. 5, 2019 while at home.

She was born Nov. 6, 1954, the daughter of Fred Brown and Bonnie (Ledbetter) Bellinger.

She married Darrell Pater Aug. 8, 1981. They just celebrated their 38th anniversary. He survives in the home. She is also survived by her father and her siblings, Carolyn (Larry) Anderson of Topeka, Don (Pam) Brown of Kansas City, KS, Janet Vickery of Murray, KY and Patty (Tom) Long of Hoyt, KS. She was preceded in death by her mother.

She graduated from Topeka High in 1973. She worked for American Bindery for 25 years before the company closed, then Pro Print for 7 years until they were sold. Sue began working as a cook at Jeff West High School in 2012 and stayed till she retired in 2019 because her cancer battle took too much of a toll.

She collected elephants and has them all around her house. She enjoyed her home and yard, as well as her cat Winston.
