Stephen Allen May

January 20, 1963 — January 26, 2018

Stephen Allen May, son of Bob D. and Jean E. May, was born on January 20, 1963. He succumbed to Colon Cancer on January 23, 2018. Stephen graduated from Fredonia High School in Fredonia, Kansas, Class of 1981.

He married Teri Gillespie on December 12, 1987, in Topeka, they later divorced.

Stephen was always an independent person, marching to his own drum. After graduation, he and a friend went to Garden City, Kansas to work in IBP meat packing company for a while. Then later worked at Cobalt Boat out of Neodesha. Stephen then decided that he would like to be an Over-the-Road trucker. After attending a training school, he was hired by MCI trucking in Joplin, Missouri. He later transferred to CFI for a number of years. He was awarded the prestigious "1 Million Mile Safe Driving Award". He then came off the road and went to work with Conway Freight Inc which later became XPO Logisitics out of Nevada Missouri.

His other love was golf. He was an avid golfer, if he wasn't working, he was on a golf course somewhere.

Survivors include his Parents, Bob & Jean (Fast) May of Topeka, Son, Stephen A. May II (Ashley) of Joplin, Sister, Kristel (May) Guyle of Topeka, Nieces, Jessica Guyle (Aaron) of Auburn, Sierra Guyle (Lukas) of Topeka, Nephew, Jeremiah Guyle (Hannah) of Topeka, 1 Great-Niece & 6 Great-Nephews, Aunts & Uncles, and several cousins, and his work family at Conway/XPOLogisitics.

Per his wishes, Stephen was cremated and his ashes will be spread at numerous golf courses (in secret) around the United States.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on February 3, 2018 at First Lutheran Church 1234 SW Fairlawn Rd Topeka Kansas 66604. Luncheon will be served after service.

In Lieu of Flowers, Contributions in memory of Stephen came be made to Midland Hospice House
