Stephanie Rae Hellmuth passed away on April 11, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, KS. She was born on June 3, 1978, in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Chris and Wendy (Scofield) Hellmuth. Her dad affectionately remembers singing with her when she rode in the pickup with him and being reprimanded often by Wendy for getting Steph and her pretty dresses dirty while working with him. Steph spent her childhood in Colorado, graduating from Fort Morgan High School in 1996, then later moving to Salina, Kansas.
Steph's professional life was dedicated to the legal field, where she worked as an assistant in law offices in Colby and Salina, Kansas.
She loved to watch reality television shows and could catch you up on the characters and their lives whenever you asked. Steph loved having her nails done, something she and her mother often enjoyed together. An eye-catching purse was typically on her arm, and she was always excited to add to her collection. But her favorite indulgence was Starbucks, whether it was coffee and a sandwich in the morning, or a smoothie.
Stephanie leaves behind a legacy in her children—Arianna, Raela, and Daevon. Throughout her courageous battle, her children were her reason to fight. They were there to support her in the same way she supported and loved them. Steph rarely complained, even when she was feeling her worst. Her resiliency and strength in the midst of adversity were inspiring to those who knew and loved her. Steph's infectious laugh brightened any gathering and will always be a treasured memory.
Steph leaves behind her father, Chris, and stepmother, Michelle of Salina KS, along with her brothers, Brandon of Longmont CO, and Tyler (Alena) of Liberty MO, her nieces and nephew, extended family, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Wendy Hellmuth, her grandparents, Jerry Hellmuth and Darlene Dunning, and Russ and Joyce Scofield.
Cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 11 a.m. MT at Christ's Church, 330 State Street in Fort Morgan, CO.
