Stan Krien, formerly of St. Francis, Kansas, passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 72. He was born on May 23, 1953, in Benkelman, Nebraska, to Dean and Deloris Krien. Stan grew up on the family farm in SW Cheyenne county, graduating from St Francis Community High School in 1971. He attended vo-tech in Goodland Kansas before beginning his career in construction.
In 1976, he married the love of his life, Becky, and together they built a life rooted in hard work and family.
In 1984, Stan transitioned from construction to farming — a move that reflected his adaptability and dedication to providing for his family.
A true jack of all trades, Stan could fix or build just about anything. He loved riding his motorcycle, spending time in the mountains, and working with his hands—whether tinkering in the shop or crafting something from wood.
Hard work shaped who he was, and that legacy of perseverance and determination is one he proudly passed down to his family.
After 68 years in St. Francis, Stan and Becky moved to Topeka in 2021 to be closer to family.
Stan will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, and his quiet, steady presence.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Deloris Krien. He is survived by his wife, Becky Krien; brother, Danny Krien of Greeley, Colorado; daughters, Vinecia Haugsness (Chris) of Topeka, Kansas, and Jana Ventura (Steven) of Garland, Texas; grandchildren, Zoey, Cadee, and Cannon Haugsness, and Zoe Ventura; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Stan's life will be held in St. Francis, KS, March 2026, with details to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you reach out to those you hold close and tell them you love them.
