Shirley Ann (Frost) Shay

Shirley Ann (Frost) Shay, 85, of Topeka, KS, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025, at Good Shepherd Hospice House, Manhattan, KS.

She was born May 11, 1940, in Lecompton, KS, the daughter of James and Eva (Schloetzer) Frost. Shirley married Geroge F. Shay on April 9, 1960. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2018. Shirley is survived by four daughters, and their spouses, Holly (Tim), Penny, Judy (Mike) and Eva (Wes). Two sisters, Jeannie, Julene, six grandchildren, their spouses, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, James and Eva Frost, a son, George “Buddy” Shay along with eight siblings and a son-in-law, Steve Magistro.

In Shirley’s spare time she enjoyed cooking, watching the KC Chiefs, country music programs and going to the casino with Julene. She was a caring soul to others.

Shirley’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for all the loving care that was provided in her last days by the staff and the special bond she had with Theo, the therapy dog at Good Shepherd Hospice

A Celebration of life will begin at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Martin Creek Community Room 4950 SW Huntoon Street, Topeka, KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Good Shepherd Hospice House, 3801 Vanesta Drive, Manhattan KS 66503.
