Shirley Marie Reed-Brown

Shirley Marie Reed-Brown, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 24, 2023, at McCrites Retirement Community.

Shirley was born March 21, 1936, in Richland Ks. Her parents were Woodrow Wilson Reed and Pearl Marie Belles-Reed. She had two younger brothers Emmett (Gwen) and Ronald (Nancy) Reed. She graduated High School in 1954 Overbrook High School where she was voted her class Home Coming Queen. She worked at KPL, Auburn Washburn High School, Rantoul Energy Corp, RWD7 Water dept bookkeeping, Kansas Expo Center, and her Condo Association Treasurer.

Shirley married Gary Brown in 1958 and they later divorced in 1985. With that union they had two sons Keith (Doreen) Brown of Topeka and Kent Brown of Topeka. Shirley had two grandsons Kyle (Ashley) and Kasey Brown of Topeka, and a granddaughter Halie (Tyler) Brown-Campain of Kansas City area. She also had four great-grandchildren Braedyn and Kysin Brown and Will and Vivian Campain and nieces and nephews.

Shirley enjoyed gardening, square dancing, quilting, and sewing.

Shirley was proceeded in death by her parents, her brother Ronald and his wife Nancy, her sister-in-law Gwen, a niece and a nephew.

A family dinner is planned.
