Shedrick M. Burk Iii

17 December 1935 to 3 September 2017

Sonny was 82 years young when he passed away earlier this week following a heart attack for which he did not recover.

Sonny, a native of Topeka, leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Cora and their three sons, Shedrick IV, Richard, Darryl and his sister Arlene. Additionally, 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren morn his passing.

A man born to serve, Sonny, served his God, nation, family and friends devoutly with compassion and a zest for life. The many lessons of life he imparted to all will be forever remembered. His love for his family, those who went before him to make his passing easier; Ruth his mother, Donald his brother, Linda his sister and Vicki his daughter and those who remain behind cannot be understated. He is truly loved and the hollowness of his passing will remain forever in our hearts.

We ask that you join us on Friday, 8 September 2017 at 2:00pm, Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, not to morn his passing but to celebrate his life.
