Shawn Paul Waldo, passed away on March 12, 2023, in Riverside, MO, just three days shy of his 48th birthday. Born on March 15, 1975, in Topeka, Shawn was a loving son, brother, and father who brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him.
Shawn is survived by his daughter, Summer Waldo; sister, Crystal K. Weir; father, Ralph E. Waldo; and grandparents, Virgil and Dona Waldo and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and sister Angel. Shawn's family meant the world to him, and he cherished the time spent with them, creating countless memories that will be held dear in their hearts.
A proud graduate of Washburn Rural High School, Shawn went on to make a significant impact in the boxing industry, where he devoted many years of his life. His dedication to his work and the community he served was evident in the strong relationships he formed and the respect he garnered from his peers.
Shawn was a man of many talents, and music held a special place in his heart. He wrote music, played guitar, and was the lead singer with several bands throughout his life. His passion for music was infectious, and he loved sharing this gift with family and friends.
As a testament to Shawn's character, he was described by those who knew him as loving, funny, and generous. His ability to light up a room with his humor and his unwavering generosity will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
