Sharyn Anson Mccoy Hulter

Sharyn Anson McCoy Hulter, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted follower of Christ, Sharyn lived her life with unwavering faith, fierce love, and a servant's heart always placing Jesus first, her family second, and her friends close behind.

Born on May 26, 1947, Sharyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. After the passing of her first husband, Jerry McCoy, she courageously raised their two children, Jeric and Aryn. In time, she found love again with Arthur Hulter, and together they built a beautiful, blended family that included his children, Randy and Katie. Though the family was blended, the love was whole equal and unconditional. Sharyn raised all four children as her own, never showing favoritism (even when Jeric insisted he was the favorite).

Sharyn and Arthur celebrated 43 years of marriage, having married after less than a year of dating a testament to their enduring love and commitment. Throughout her life, Sharyn led with quiet strength and selfless dedication. Whether organizing camping trips, preparing meals, or guiding her family with grace and wisdom, she created a home rooted in love, laughter, and strong faith.

An avid trout fisherwoman, Sharyn found joy in the stillness of early mornings by the stream always ready to cast her line by 6:30am at the sound of the siren. She could pack a camper, feed four kids, and still make it to the water on time. Her famous saying, "No fishy, no eatie," was a family favorite and still brings smiles to the faces of those who loved her.

In her later years, Sharyn found new joy in the game of pickleball. She was a regular at the YMCA, where she found not only a love for the game, but a second family in the vibrant community that surrounded her. Her YMCA family brought her laughter, connection, and a deep sense of belonging.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Arthur Hulter; her children Jeric McCoy (Jackie), Randy Hulter (Shannon Laframboise), Katie Hulter, and Aryn McCoy (Kacey Wiltz); her nine cherished grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and countless friends and loved ones who were touched by her presence. She was a longtime member of First Southern Baptist Church, where she served faithfully and joyfully.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at First Southern Baptist Church in Topeka, KS.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations in Sharyn's memory be made to Dermott Youth Funds, gifts given through Charles Graham Ministres, (tax receipt given), sent in care of Midwest Cremation, 525 SE 37th Street, Topeka, KS 66605.

Sharyn's legacy lives on in every act of love, every moment of grace, and every life she touched. Faithful servant, beloved mother, and fisher of both trout and hearts. Sharyn, you are deeply loved and will be forever missed.
