Sharon K. Platt, 85, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, in Hamilton, Kansas. She was born on July 30, 1940, in Emporia, Kansas, to George and Vera Edwards.

Sharon graduated from Hamilton High School in 1960 and lived a life marked by strength, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends. She was a devoted homemaker who found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life, especially fishing, hunting, gardening, raising cattle, sewing, and other crafts.

On June 30, 1957, she married Clare Platt Jr., and together they built a life centered on love, commitment, and family for 66 years. They were blessed with three children: Greg Platt (Sandy), Kyle Platt (Kelly Sage), and Brett Platt (Lynn). Sharon is also lovingly remembered by her grandson, Paul Platt; step-grandsons, Justin Allen and Nick Riggs; and brothers-in-law, John Platt, Jim Platt, and Preston Platt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clare Platt Jr.; her father, George Edwards; her mother, Vera Hughes Edwards; her brother, Ron Edwards; her sister-in-law, Darla Edwards; her aunt and uncle, Zelma and Harry Lange; and her granddaughter, Emily Platt.

Sharon touched many lives through her generosity, steady presence, and the care she showed to those around her, and her memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on June 26, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Community Center.
