Sharil Kay Caldwell passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, at the age of 68, in Topeka, KS. Born on June 22, 1955, also in Topeka, Sharil's life was a testament to her loving, courageous, and thoughtful nature.
Sharil's journey was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, which was her greatest joy and pride. Her parents, Charles and Eloise Coleman and sister, Neva Coleman preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving daughter, Tanya Hayes, and her treasured granddaughters, Danae and Tierra Hayes. Her memory will also be cherished by her siblings: Merrill Coleman and his wife Paula, Marietta Pruitt and her husband Kenny, and Luana Straley and her husband John, as well as by her many nieces and nephews, and her life-long friends who will miss her deeply.
Throughout her life, Sharil's professional commitment was evident in her long-standing work with Blue Cross & Blue Shield and Stormont Vail, where she not only contributed her skills and knowledge but also formed lasting relationships with her colleagues. Her involvement in these organizations reflected her dedication to her community and her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Sharil's interests were a mirror of her vibrant spirit. She had an abiding love for her family, which was the cornerstone of her life. Her passion for Florida was a testament to her love of beauty and warmth, both in climate and in hearts. Sharil also had an immense love for animals, which brought her great comfort and companionship throughout her years.
Those who knew Sharil would describe her as the epitome of love and courage. Her thoughtful gestures and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. Sharil's resilience in the face of adversity, particularly during her courageous battle with cancer, was an inspiration to her family and friends.
Sharil's legacy is one of love, strength, and kindness. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her. As we bid farewell to Sharil, we celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left on this world. Her spirit will forever be a beacon of light for her family and all who were blessed to know her.
