Scott Wesley Barker

January 21, 1986 — January 14, 2023

Scott Wesley Barker, 36, of Topeka, KS passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

Scott was born on January 21, 1986 in Topeka and attended Randolph Elementary, Jardine Middle, and Topeka High Schools before earning his GED. He was currently employed at Reeser's Fine Foods and looking into going to trade school. Though he struggled most of his life with addiction he was very proud to have recently graduated from Drug Court and gained his 1 year clean coin on his journey with Narcotics/Alcoholics Anonymous.

Scott loved sports, getting out of town, family, friends, and above all else his dog, Kinley. During the past year Scott could be found most nights hanging out with his mom, dad, and Kinley watching the Chiefs, Royals, KU basketball, or playing outside . He was enjoying the simple things in life like car rides with his mom, family dinners, and hanging out with his niece and nephews. Scott enjoyed making those around him laugh and had a story or advice for every imaginable situation.

Scott is survived by his best friend and constant companion Kinley; his parents, Marla and Kirby Barker; sister, Christina Barker; brother, Sean (Becky) Phillips; nephews, Dom (Franny), Zachary and Luke Phillips; as well as his niece, Lauren Phillips. Scott is also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends around the country.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elta & Marlin Kerby and Dollie & Wes Barker as well as his uncle, Kent Barker.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 (Scott's 37th birthday). Visitation with the family will be at 10:00 am with service to follow at 11:00 am. First Christian Church will host the service at 1880 SW Gage Blvd. Topeka, KS.
