Sarah Stuber Young

Sarah Stuber Young, 89, was called home by the Lord on October 15, 2015. She was born on July 29, 1926 in Winfield, Kansas to Ralph and Anna Stuber. Sarah was the youngest of five children. She lived in Winfield, Kansas until she started college at Kansas University. Sarah completed her degree at Southwestern University in Winfield, KS with majors in History and English.

Sarah's first position out of college was working at Boeing in Wichita.

Sarah married Theodore Young, M.D. who was a pediatrician in Winfield, KS. They moved to Topeka in 1957. Sarah is survived by her children Frank Young of Topeka, KS, Heather Young of Milwaukee, Ralph Young of Topeka, KS, Rachael Welch of Topeka, KS, Gennie Dobelbower of Topeka, KS and Ted Young II of Kansas City, MO.

Sarah is also survived by some amazing, wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Charlie Welch, Amy Howard, Tyler Dobelbower, Adam Welch, Nicholas Dobelbower, Travis Dobelbower, Madelaine Forrey, Sophie Snyder, Hayley Young, Jackson Young, Anna Young, Joseph Young, Samuel Young, Harrison Young, Hudson Young, Teddy Young III, Timmy Young, and Jubilee Young. Her great grandchildren are Alexis Howard, Rylen Dobelbower, Max Dobelbower, Raeya Dobelbower, Isabelle Howard, Marlo Dobelower, Ada Dobelbower and one on the way!

Later in life, Sarah completed a degree in criminal justice and enjoyed working in the law library. She also attended Washburn Law School. Sarah was a dyed in the wool Jayhawk fan but rooted for the sports' teams of her grandchildren J

She was preceded in death by her husband Ted Young, M.D. as well as grandchildren Jacob Welch and Sarah Young. A celebration of Sarah's life will be held at the First United Methodist Church at 6th and Topeka Boulevard in the Klasse Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Friday October 23rd. The family would welcome all who would like to join us.
