Sarah Anne (Schneider) Calderon, passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 51, due to renal failure in Topeka, KS. Born on April 2, 1973, in Winchester, KS, Sarah's infectious laughter and boundless spirit were her gifts to the world.
Sarah grew up in Nortonville, KS with her parents, Judith K. Maddux (Larry) of Overbrook, KS, and the late Celestine J. Schneider Jr. as well as siblings, Mary T. Williams (Clint) of Meriden, KS, Celestine J. Schneider, III (Luanne) of Harrisburg, NC, Michelle D. Fales (Leon) of Lawrence, KS, the late Stephen J. Schneider, Deborah K. Moser (Aaron) of Easton, PA, and Lynnette L. Lynde (Michael), Raeford, NC. Sarah's legacy continues through her nine living nieces and nephews and two nephews who preceded her in death.
A proud graduate of Jefferson County North High School in 1991, Sarah's love for music led her to pursue her passion at Peru State University, where she graduated in 1997. Her enthusiasm for music was only matched by her zest for life and her unique ability to find beauty in the everyday.
Sarah's hobbies were a reflection of her vibrant personality. She delighted in coloring pictures for her family and friends, a simple act that brought immense joy to those around her. Her collections of calavera (Day of the Dead skulls) and butterflies were a testament to her love for the colorful and the meaningful, celebrating both life and heritage with every piece.
Sarah's sense of humor was a light in the lives of many. Her quick wit and ability to find humor in the mundane brought laughter to the most ordinary of days. She had the rare gift of elevating the spirits of everyone she interacted with, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
Courageous in her battle with renal failure, Sarah faced her illness with the same tenacity and bravery that she approached all aspects of her life. Her family and friends will forever admire her strength and resilience.
As we bid farewell to Sarah, we celebrate a life lived with gusto and grace. Her legacy is one of laughter, bravery, and a refusal to be anything but her authentic self. Sarah's memory will continue to be a guiding light for all who had the pleasure of knowing her, a reminder to approach life with a sense of humor and the courage to embrace every adventure.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 11:30-1:00 p.m. at the K of C Hall, Nortonville, KS followed by internment of Sarah's ashes at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Nortonville, KS.
