Sara Nicole Wolter White

Sara Nicole Wolter White, 50, passed away on January 1, 2025, at the Hospice House at Midland Care in Topeka, KS, from Wilson's Disease.

Sara was born on December 9, 1974, in Newton, KS, to Roger "Buzz" and Joy (Schwab) Wolter. As the youngest of three sisters, Sara brought joy, energy, and a fierce spirit to the family from the moment she arrived. Her infectious laugh and unfiltered humor were the heart of many gatherings; she never met a stranger—everyone she encountered quickly became a friend.

Throughout her life, Sara had a rare ability to make others feel like they were the most important person to her. Whether as a hair stylist in Wichita, St. Louis, or Kansas City, or simply in everyday interactions, Sara almost always left a lasting impression. Wherever she went, she left behind a trail of new friends, each one feeling like they'd known her forever. Her sense of humor was contagious until the end —no matter what challenges she faced, she found a way to make others smile.

Sara's life was not without its struggles, but her resilience and capacity to love were undeniable and her spirit lives on through the memories of those who loved her deeply.

She is preceded in death by her father, Buzz, and her sister, Jamy. Sara is survived by her mother, Joy Carlson, and stepfather, Roger Carlson; her dear children, Elle (Sun Rolf) White and Myles White; granddaughter, Yumi Rolf; her sister, Sandy Wolter; niece, Lydia Mamalis; nephew, Hank (Julia) Mamalis; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and a very extended circle of friends.

Sara's life was a reminder of the power of connection. She gave freely of herself – especially her laughter, and her love. We will miss her deeply, but her memory will live on in every person who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Sara's life will be held in Kansas City in February, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and memories and honor the remarkable woman she was.
