Sandra Jean Haflich, age 82 of Meriden, KS passed away peacefully on April 20, 2024,
after a long battle with time, age and a short but valiant battle with cancer. Sandy was born
March 19,1942 in Grand Rapids, MI. She graduated from Shawnee Mission East High
School, attended beauty school, raised two fabulous kids, was a Girl Scout leader, worked
for the Kansas Department of Revenue in her second career, volunteered with Meals on
Wheels, loved her cat Sissy and made the best macaroni salad ever.
Sandy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and aunt. She married her
husband of 54 years, Gary L. Haflich, on April 8, 1963, in Topeka, KS. Sandy was preceded
in death by her parents, Harold and Genevieve McGinness and her husband Gary. She is
survived by her daughter Sally Haflich of Kansas City, MO, son Mark (Kimbre) Haflich of
Topeka, KS, grandsons Kodi (Lauren Everts) and Keaton Haflich of Topeka, KS,
sister-in-law Nancy Hillman, several nieces and nephews and more than a handful of her
progenies' friends she welcomed to the family.
Sandy was cremated and will be laid to rest in Meriden Cemetery in a private family service.
