"Chava", as he was affectionately known, was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses February 29th, 1976. He served as an elder for many years in the Spanish Congregation in Topeka. He found great joy in sharing the good news from the Bible with others.
Chava also loved repairing things and painting. He worked for 42 years and retired as a maintenance man for the Topeka Country Club. This work was more of a hobby for him that he enjoyed. He often helped friends and neighbors by fixing a wobbly table or chair and painting various pieces of furniture.
We're all looking forward to the day coming soon when we can see Chava again. That time is mentioned at John 5:28, 29. "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life…"
