Ruth N. Driver

Ruth N. Driver, Topeka, KS, born on November 23, 1945 in Ottawa, KS, passed away at 72 years of age on July 22, 2018. She has suffered for several months from cancer.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Sara Driver, and son, Michael Driver and wife Annie, and two grandchildren, Blaise and Stacy. Ruth was united in marriage to Richard T Driver in August of 1964. Richard Driver passed away in 2013.

Ruth was born of parents Richard and Evelyn Schultze (both deceased). Ruth came from a family of 8 brothers and sisters including, Richard (deceased), John, Darrell, Kerwin, Dorothy, Carolyn, and Kathy.

Ruth graduated with a bachelors degree in art and psychology from Washburn University and then received a masters degree in art therapy from Emporia State University. She went on to work as a licensed art therapist in a variety of capacities including individual art therapy and group art therapy, including a group at the Menninger Clinic in Topeka.

Ruth had a great love for music, each year she purchased season tickets to the Topeka Symphony as well as faithfully attended the Sunflower Music Festival. She also greatly enjoyed flower gardening as an adult and even had various flowers and outdoor ornamental displays at her apartment where she last lived. She loved teaching art to her grandkids.

Ruth was very active in the community, belonging to the Women's Club of Topeka for many years as well as involved at various church groups at University United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held on July 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm at University United Methodist Church, 1621 SW College, Topeka, KS 66604.
