Ronald Lee Sanders

Ronald Lee Sanders born August 1, 1938 to Catherine and Lloyd Sanders in Michigan City, Indiana, passed away September 26, 2020.

He graduated from Grovertown High School in 1956.

He was a catcher who warmed up the pitchers for the Chicago Cubs.  He was in the US Navy and the Navy Reserves, where he served in Cambodia, Midway Island and Olathe.  He was Honorably discharged in 1959.

He worked for Santa Fe and Menningers before working for and retiring from Kansas Gas Service after 36 years, in 2000.

Ron married Kay Marie Moore in 1960.  They had 2 daughters, Ronni and Leeta and 3 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Catherine Sanders, brother Roger and sister Bonnie.

Ron is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay Marie, Daughters, Ronni (Tim) Sales and Leeta Simpson. Grandsons, Scott (Kelsey) Rinehart, Ryan Rinehart and their father Mike Rinehart, Granddaughter, Sydney Sales, Brother, Lennie (Sandi) Sanders, Nephews and Nieces and many many friends.

Join us for a Visitation and Celebration of Life from 1pm to 4pm Saturday October 3rd, at 2373 SW Fountain Place in Fountain Villa Addition.
