Ronald "Ron" Wayne Kiely

Ronald “Ron” Wayne Kiely, 71, of Hoyt, KS passed away on Wednesday, March 11. He was surrounded by family and friends. He was born October 27, 1954, in Ontario, Canada. He was adopted in 1954 by Thomas and Winnie Kiely from California.

He attended and graduated from Costa Mesa High School in California. After graduating, Ron joined the US Air Force. He proudly served his country for 5 years. While stationed at Forbes Field in Topeka, KS, Ron met Crystal Anweiler. They were married in April 1973 and shared 52 years of marriage. Together they had two children: Christopher and Sarah.

After leaving the Air Force, Ron would work for several companies as an HVAC technician. Ron loved to fish, hunt, camp, - really anything outdoors. He had a witty sense of humor that could make anyone laugh and smile – even if you were mad! He had so many “favorite” sayings: he could run faster scared than Crystal could mad, nucking futs, cry me a river – build a bridge & get over it, Ron had many nicknames: Old Fart, Putz, Uncle Ron, Grandpa, Ronald P – and others that can’t be shared!

Ron was preceded in death by his parents as well as his beloved wife Crystal. Left to cherish Ron’s memories are his sister Cheryl Hirtler in California, his children Chris, in California and Sarah in Mayetta, KS. He also had 3 grandchildren: Alex Kiely, Heather Bone, and Ethan Lewis. He was also blessed with 3 great grandchildren: Waylon, Ella, and Rohan.

Ron also had an extended family that adored him greatly! His best friend, Chris (Sara) Rose of Hoyt, KS and their daughters, Hillari Lynn and Katlyn Freed.

Ron requested no funeral. He was cremated. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
