Ronald W. Reigel

Ronald W. Reigel, 61 of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, July 18th, 2015 from complications due to renal failure.

Ron, as his family and friends called him, was born on October 3rd, 1953, in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, where his father was stationed in the army. He attended grade school in Westminster, Colorado, junior high and high school in Overland Park, Kansas, and graduated from high school in Wichita, Kansas. He was active in the Boy Scouts. While in high school at Wichita Heights, he competed in debate and track and field. After graduation in 1971, he attended Kansas University, in Lawrence.

As an adult, Ron lived in Topeka, Kansas. There he met his longtime companion, JoAnn Howly. He was an active member in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Reigel. Ron is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Reigel; sister Deb (Kent) Miller, brother Bill (Sheryl) Reigel; nephews Eric (Rachel) Miller, Travis Miller, Brandon Reigel; nieces Amanda (Alex) Tran, Kelley (Matt) Plunkett, Nicole Reigel, and Aubrey Reigel.

Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25th at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 725 SW Buchanan Street, Topeka, Kansas.
