Ronald Ray Gragg, 79, of Topeka, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, surrounded by his family, after losing his battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on April 5, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas to Eugene and Mary (Woolaway) Gragg.
Ron proudly answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army in May 1968. During his four years of service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal before receiving his honorable discharge in 1972.
Following his military service, Ron worked for many years at Pittsburgh Paints before opening Gragg’s Paint Company in Kansas City. One of his greatest joys was building and working alongside his wife and children in the family business.
Ron will be remembered most for his unwavering love for his family. He never missed an opportunity to support his children and grandchildren, faithfully showing up to their activities and events no matter how far he had to drive. His presence, encouragement, and dedication meant the world to those who loved him.
He is survived by his children, Todd Gragg and Tammy Manzanares (Ryan Gay); grandchildren, Corey Gragg (Ellie), Tanner Gragg, Mackenzie Husman (Hayden), and Abbey Manzanares; and great-grandchildren, Ezra Husman, Riley Husman, Finley Manzanares, Kolby Gragg, Lucy Gragg, and Emery Gragg.
Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy (Finley) Gragg, and his parents, Eugene and Mary (Woolaway) Gragg.
A private inurnment will be held with immediate family.
Ron’s family will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and unconditional love he gave so freely throughout his life.
