Roger Allen Herpich

Roger Allen Herpich, 68, of Council Grove, Kansas, passed away Monday Sept. 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born Oct 14th 1948 in Junction City Kansas, the son of K.W. and Eunice (Engel) Herpich. He grew up working on the family dairy farm while attending and graduating Dwight Rural High School. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam for 14 months to earn an early Honorable discharge from the Army. After his discharge from the military he returned to the farm and continued helping with the dairy while working at Atlas Van Lines and various other jobs with his most recent being at Ingmire Plumbing & Heating in Council Grove. Roger enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, and watching Westerns and war movies on TV.

On July 14th, 2002 Roger was united in Marriage to Darline Watson. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Timothy Post. He is survived by his wife of the home, brother Glenn and Diane Herpich of Wichita, daughter Ambrosia and Dominik Szczepanski of Topeka, and stepson Lucas and Kayli Thompson of Tecumseh from a previous marriage. Step daughters Jessica Kariuki of Ozawkie, Thelma (TK) Brock of Council Grove. Stepson Thomas McAuley and wife Ariel of Ottawa, also a stepson in Topeka and a stepson in Nebraska. He is also survived by grandchildren Victoria, Eden, Evan, Caiden, Carson, Hudson, Angela, Kelly, Madison, Lane, Hunter and great grandchildren Jase and AnnaLeigh.

A memorial service will be held on October 21st, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Flint Hills Apostolic Church, 102 S. 9th St. Council Grove, Kansas.
