Robert Dean Cooper

April 24, 1960 — September 12, 2024

Robert Dean Cooper, a cherished family man, proud veteran, and avid sports enthusiast, passed away peacefully from natural causes on September 12, 2024, at the age of 64. Born on April 24, 1960, in Topeka, Kansas, Robert spent his entire life in the community he loved, surrounded by friends, family, and the sports teams that ignited his passion.

Robert's journey began in Topeka, where he was raised and later graduated from high school. His sense of duty led him to serve his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army for a decade. After his military service, he found his calling in the field of shipping and receiving, a career that he dedicated himself to with the same commitment and excellence he displayed in the service.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Cooper. He is survived by a loving family that includes his son, Christopher Cooper; his daughter, Melissa Cooper; his son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Angelina Cooper; and his adored grandchildren, Carson, Adalina, Lilyanna, and Julian, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride.

The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Robert. He was a devoted spectator of his grandchildren's numerous sporting events, cheering them on in soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, and golf. His loyalty to his favorite teams—the Royals, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas Jayhawks—was unwavering. Robert also took great pleasure in supporting his nephews as they competed in high school and college sports, often being their most enthusiastic and vocal fan.

A quote that Robert often referenced, capturing his philosophy on life, was by Helen Keller: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." This sentiment reflected his own approach to life—a journey filled with courage, love, and a zest for the experiences that make life truly worth living.

Robert will be remembered not just for his love of sports but for his warm heart, his steadfast presence, and the guidance he provided to all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life. His legacy is one of strength, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to his family and country.

As we bid farewell to Robert Dean Cooper, we do so with heavy hearts, but also with deep gratitude for the time we shared with him. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as his presence once did. Robert's life story is one that will be told with fondness and pride for generations to come.

Robert's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to our family and friends for their support and companionship throughout his life. The memories created and shared with Robert will forever remain a treasured part of our lives.
