In Loving Memory of

Robert Russell Calhoun Jr.

September 19, 1947 – April 6, 2026Age 78 | Harveyville, Kansas

Robert Russell Calhoun Jr., 78, of Harveyville, passed away on April 6, 2026. He was born on September 19, 1947, to Robert Russell Calhoun Sr. and Darlene Croucher Calhoun, and lived a full and hardworking life centered around family and community.

Russell proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He began his career at Henry Manufacturing from 1967 to 1970, then spent more than 40 years with Goodyear until his retirement in 2008. He also worked for Rural Water District #8 for more than 40 years. Alongside his full-time work, he devoted countless hours to farming—raising cattle and hogs and tending to the land he loved.

He married Linda Rainbolt in 1967, and together they had three children. In 1981, he married Christina Secord, who shared his love for adventure.

After retiring, Russell was rarely still. You could find him at an auction, on a road trip, at the casino playing cards with friends, or out on the farm checking fences and making sure no “grass grew under his feet.” He loved to dance, spend time with family, and enjoy every bit of life’s simple pleasures.

Russell is survived by his daughters Rechell (Matt) Smith and Tammy (Richard) Marcotte, his son Chad (Angie) Calhoun, three stepsons, and one stepdaughter. He was a proud Grandpa to four grandsons and one granddaughter, and he cherished his six great-grandchildren—with one more on the way. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18th, at 11:00 a.m. at Tallgrass Christian Camp, 11908 Old Log House Road, Harveyville, KS.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in his honor.Forever loved, forever remembered
