Robert "Bob" Lee Randle

Robert "Bob" Lee Randle, age 77, of Oak Hill, KS, died on July 27, 2026. Bob was born July 27, 1949, in Miltonvale, KS.

The son of Louis Alton Randle and Dorothy Eleanor (Trickle) Randle, he grew up in the Clay County area. Graduated Longford High School in 1969. After high school, Bob was drafted into the military, where he served with the "Fighting Seabees" as a Builder, 3rd class (BU3), with Naval Construction Battalion 5; and served in Vietnam. Upon release from military service, Bob worked at El Dorado Motor Corporation, Minneapolis, KS, for several years, building recreational vehicles. His desire to live in Salina, KS, led him to working for Beechcraft, from where he retired, then moved to Oak Hill in 1993.

His love of community led him to serve as a member of the city council.

His contributions to the community were in building the City Hall, building play equipment in the city park, heading up community events such as the Fall Festival and community Christmas party for many years, as well as heading up picnics in the park. All of his community service drew many people into his beloved town of Oak Hill. He was also instrumental in clean up and clearing storm damage after a heavy ice storm hit Oak Hill in 2007.

His love for woodworking showed in the craftsmanship of a dresser that was gifted to a family member and a dining room buffet he made for a friend, along with many other hand-crafted items that will keep his memory in the forefront of friends and families minds, with one notable contribution to the Mt Liberty United Methodist Church of a beautifully sculpted table in memory of Deanna Clements, his lifetime sweetheart.

Bob attended Mt Liberty United Methodist Church, where he was baptized. He supported the church’s mission work by generously providing much needed resources to help with cleanup efforts after hurricane damage in the southern states.

Bob's passion in life was caring for community and family. He also loved to restore old cars with his brother, Calvin, then taking them to parades and displaying them for public appreciation. He loved his fur babies and adopted many; leaving behind his beloved Jackie Jay, a Boston Terrier.

Bob is preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Patricia Ann, his brother Jimmy Eugene, sister, Karen Marie, brother Calvin Dean, nephew, Michael Lynn and his one true love, Deanna Clements.

He is survived by his nephews Alan Lee and Thomas (Tommy) Eugene.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 04, 2026, at 2 PM in the Mt Liberty cemetery, Pastor Lillian Flegle, officiating.
