Robert “Bob” Michael Williams

Robert "Bob" Michael Williams, born May 13, 1955 to Harold and Mildred Williams passed away at his home on February 18, 2016. Bob was a very hard working man all of his life, employed as a laborer at the City of Topeka Water Department for many years. He served as president of the union for five years fighting for every one of his coworkers. He valued hard working people and believed that everyone deserved fair and equal treatment. Bob also sacrificed many nights with his family when on call and would have to leave in the middle of dinner, sleep and even on holidays to go work when needed. He did everything he could to provide a comfortable life for his family.

Bob enjoyed fishing with his kids when they were young. They spent countless days from sunrise to sunset casting their poles and shooting the breeze around a pond or lake hoping to catch the "big one". Bob also very much enjoyed watching and even coaching his kids in any sport they chose to play. He enjoyed watching the game of football, probably more than any other sport, and since a young boy was a huge Pittsburg Steelers fan. Bob always had a canine companion and gave them the best life any dog could ask for. He absolutely adored every dog he ever owned.

Bob is survived by his son, Jesse Clayton Williams, daughter Mahriah Susanne Williams and three grandchildren Isaac, Lidiya and Arya, ex-wife Debbie Williams, a brother Ronnie Williams, and three sisters, Janice Hughes, Sharon Unruh, and Linda Collins. He is preceded in death by his son Timothy Edward Williams, both parents Harold and Mildred, and a brother, Richard Williams. Services for Bob will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at two o'clock at Topeka Bible Church located at 1135 SW College. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either St. Jude's Hospital for Children or Topeka's Helping Hands Humane Society. These are two organizations that Bob cared deeply about.
