Rita Lou Haney Sisco

Rita Lou Haney Sisco, 75, Topeka, KS died peacefully in the hospital surrounded by her family on Feb. 22, 2018. She was born Sept. 16, 1942 in Wellsville KS, the daughter of Robert Haney and Helen (Bryan) Haney. After attending college Rita went to visit her sister, who was stationed at an Air Force Base in TX. There she meet and later married Lorenz (Larry) Sisco. In 1974, they moved to the Excelsior Springs, MO area where they raised three sons; Stephen (Sheri) Sisco, Michael Sisco, and William (Gwen) Sisco. Rita worked for the Head Start program in Excelsior Springs for many years. She also worked at the First Assembly of God Church day care before she retired from the Mid-Continent Public Library in Liberty. Rita enjoyed attending church services, knitting, quilting, oil painting, and playing the accordion.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lois Haney. She is survived by her husband, sister, Cheryl Clevenger; brother, Dale Haney, three sons, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a wake on Saturday March 3rd from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at 6020 SW 23rd Ter, Topeka KS 66614.
