Richard Michael “Doggie” Thacher

Richard Michael "Doggie" Thacher, 69, passed away on May 6th, 2017 in Topeka, Kansas at home.

Born February 16th, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri he had the gift of gab and could always make you laugh. He would talk to many people and never knew a stranger. He attended Seaman High School in Topeka. He always had a story for you and could name the presidents backward and forwards in order. He spent years of his life living in Salt Lake City, Utah and San Diego, California and loved the ocean and the beach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Donna Thacher a son Frank Shawn Thacher and a niece, Krista Thacher.

He is survived by his spouse, Ellen Ross, Topeka; children: Tonia Thacher, Jarrod Thacher, and Trent Thacher. Son, Chad Smith. Jessi Ross, Johanna Ross. Brother, Terrance "Terry" (Diana) Thacher, Oceanside, CA; brother Jeff Lewis, sister, Kim (Dan) Lewis, Texas, five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation is planned. No service will be planned. The family will gather for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 13th, 2017.
