Richard Wayne Stair

Richard Wayne Stair, 77, of Hoyt, KS passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, KS.

He was born March 12, 1945, in Independence, KS the son of Glen and Dorothy (Schicke) Stair.

After graduating from Independence High School in 1964, Richard worked on the family dairy becoming a co-owner with his father, Glen. In 1984 he moved to Dodge City and began working for the State of Kansas as an Inspector for the Weight and Measures Department. He relocated to Hutchinson and in 1988 he moved to Hoyt and that is where he began the Stair Landscaping and Tree Service. His son, David, moved his family to Hoyt to help his father with the business in 1999. Richard retired in October of 2007.

He is survived by a son, David Stair, two brothers, Walt, and Bill Stair along with four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Stair and his parents, Glen, and Dorothy Stair.

Per Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service to bury his urn will be held at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, KS.
