Richard L. Hutton

Richard L. Hutton, 70, of Topeka passed in the presence of family on May 23, 2015 after a 14-year battle with cancer.

A Topeka resident for over 20 years, Richard was well known for his charismatic personality, his contagious laughter and his compassion for others. He was known as a father figure to many and a genuine friend to all who knew him.

After a 30-year career in construction management and land development, Richard retired from Payless Corporate Offices in 2007. He enjoyed his retirement with his children, grandchildren, countless friends, and his faithful bulldog, Winston.

He is survived by four children, Angie Hutton-Benfield of North Augusta, SC., Mitchell Hutton of Topeka, Scott Hutton of Denver, Colo., Cori Hutton of San Diego, Ca,, six grandchildren, Tiana, Amaya, Ryder, Taggart, Adrianne, and Zania. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Hutton of Topeka; parents, Cecil and Iona Hutton of Andover, Ks; and, brother, Roger Hutton of Bakersfield, Ca.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family.
