Richard "Dick" Alan Koehne, age 74, of Seneca, Kansas, formerly of Pekin, Illinois, passed away on June 23, 2025, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
He was born on May 8, 1951, in Peoria, Illinois, to Richard and Mary Koehne. Dick attended St. Joseph Elementary and Middle School in Pekin and graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1969.
On November 20, 1971, he married Margaret Walker of Mapleton, Illinois. She survives. Also surviving are their daughter, Tiffany (Jeff) of Bern, Kansas, and four grandchildren: Blake, Chase, Graham, and Brooklyn. He is also survived by two brothers, Dan (Nancy) of Kansas and David (Yvonne) of Illinois; and two sisters, Mary (Terry) Gahagan of Iowa and Julie (Rick) of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his son, Troy, and two brothers, Jack and Bob Koehne.
Dick had a lifelong love of sports and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Illinois Fighting Illini basketball, and Nemaha Central High School football and basketball.
Throughout his life, Dick held various jobs, from owning a carpet cleaning business to working many years in pest control. Most recently, he worked at the Nemaha County Training Center, where he found great joy in the relationships he built with the Consumers.
In keeping with Dick's wishes, no funeral or public memorial service will be held. A private remembrance will be planned at a later date.
