Reginia D. Mathis (Smith) age 56 is no longer suffering for she has completed her journey here on Earth and is resting comfortably in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Reginia passed on August 26, 2026. She was born on June 19, 1970 in Leavenworth Kansas. She grew up in Leavenworth and graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1988. She also took several college courses and learned ASL (sign language) at KCKCC.
Reginia began work at the popcorn shop at the Leavenworth Plaza. She also spent 13 years working for Walmart as a Customer Service Manager. She also worked for Lawson Elementary as a Para for a short time before resigning to stay home and help care for her grandchildren.
Reginia’s pride and joy was always her kids and granddaughters. She loved doing arts and crafts with her granddaughters. She also loved to cook for her family, especially for family gatherings. She enjoyed going on lunch dates with friends and family to catch up and going to garage sales and shopping with her mother. Reginia also loved making wings for Sunday Football as she was a die-hard Chiefs fan.
Reginia is proceeded in death by her father, Addison Logan Jr. (Bud), her two late husbands, Shane Smith and Rodney Mathis, and her son-in-law Paul Barnes Jr. (PJ).
She is survived by her mother, Patricia Logan, two amazing children, Allison Lynn Barnes (Smith) 34 and Samuel Bryce Mathis 16, her two beautiful granddaughters, Ava Lanet Barnes 9 and Olivia Lynn Barnes 8. Her brother and sister, Kimberly Logan 51 and Shawn Logan 47. She also leaves behind one nephew and 6 nieces… Jenicia 34, Jalyn 18, Janiya 17, Mekayla 24, Hailey 21, and Austin 28, along with 7 great nieces/nephews…. Kalaia, Kaedon, Elisha, Keegan, Karsyn, Waylon, and Neveah.
Reginia loved all of her family and friends dearly and we invite you all to help us celebrate her life and memory on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Service will begin at 1pm at First Baptist Church, 340 N. 13th St., Leavenworth, Kansas 66048 followed by a reception. We asked that any flowers be sent to the church on Friday during office hours if possible. Also, anybody that would like to bring food or refreshments please deliver between 12pm-1230pm.
