Rebecca Anne Frye Hoffman

Rebecca Anne (Frye) Hoffman, a beloved wife, mother, and educator, passed away at the age of 70 on October 23, 2023.

She was born August 23, 1953, to Norma Jean (Winders) and Richard Duane Frye in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Rebecca spent her childhood in Hutchinson before moving to Manhattan, Kansas for her senior year of high school. Following her graduation from Manhattan High School, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Kansas State University in 1979. While pursuing her degree, she performed with the K-State Twirlers.

During her time working at the family-owned Dairy Queen on 3rd St, Rebecca met her life partner, Roderick Hoffman. Rebecca and Roderick were married for over 47 years until her passing. In addition to working as a professional cake decorator and a stay-at-home mother, Rebecca served as an educator in USD 383 schools for many years, where her focus lay in nurturing students with special needs. She formed deep, lasting connections with many of her students. Beyond her professional life, Rebecca found joy in music, staying informed through the news, cheering on the Wildcats, reading, and spending time with her family. She was also delighted by her daughter Heather's Pomerian Mila and her daughter Rejeana's cat Midnight.

She is survived by her husband, Roderick Hoffman; her children, Ryan, Rejeana, and Heather; and her brothers, Michael, and Bruce Frye. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Norma Jean (Winders) and Richard Duane Frye, and her brothers, Richard Jr., and Dennis Frye.

In accordance with Becky's wishes, there will be no visitation, as cremation has already taken place. A private service to commemorate her life will be held at a later date.
