Raymond E. “Butch” Bixby

Raymond E. "Butch" Bixby, age 65, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Stormant-Vail Hospital.

Raymond was born January 7, 1951 in Topeka, the son of Ray and Maxine Reamer Bixby. Raymond graduated from Silver Lake High School. He married Janice Backerman April 23, 1971 in Topeka. She survives. Raymond worked as an automotive mechanic for Amaco and City Alignment and Brake before opening Ray's Auto Service in Silver Lake.

He was preceded in death by a sister Charlene Aubert. He is survived by his wife, Janice; daughter Tammy Tibbits (Bobby) of Silver Lake; a son Richard Bixby of Silver Lake; a brother Mark Reamer of Manhattan, Ks and four grandchildren Kindra, Kaily, Kyler, and Kasey.

Raymond enjoyed various hobbies such as Wednesday coffee, Saturday fishing at various locations, Nascar, gardening, and napping with his lapdog PeeWee in the afternoons.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December, 17, 2016at 10:00 am at the Lakeside Baptist Church in Silver Lake. A Celebration of Life Service is also being planned for Saturday, January 14, with details to be announced later.
