Randy was born January 2,1952 in Smith Center, Kansas to Don and Wilma Hughes. He attended the Smith Center schools and was the amazing sports guy most kids dream of being, until a knee injury forced him out, playing football and basketball in school, and baseball throughout the summers. He attended KU, sold boots for Durango Boots in Kansas, Nebraska, and Colorado for many years, cars for Holthaus Motors in Osage City, and advertising prior to his retirement for a group of radio stations in Topeka.

He was married to Kim Rundle, in Smith Center, June 10, 1977, they later divorced. Surviving are their 4 children, Josh (Tammy), Jara Matney (Jason), Jesse (Ashley) and Joe. He also has 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, all of Topeka. Randy also leaves a brother-in-law, Dave Relihan, Topeka and niece, Erin Relihan Horst, of Olathe.

Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents (Don and Wilma Hughes), a nephew (Cale Relihan) and sister (Linda Relihan).

There will be a private graveside service at a later date.
